FTP, or File Transfer Protocol, represents the most popular means of sending content to a web hosting account. Using an FTP application that is pre-installed on your desktop PC or laptop, you can establish a connection to your hosting server and copy all of the website files that you want with several clicks. This is done using an easy-to-use GUI and it is as simple as dragging & dropping the files in question. The advantage of using FTP is the fact that you will be able to set up separate accounts, each with a different level of access to your online storage space, so if you have to provide a third party with access, for example – a web designer, they will be able to connect only to a particular directory and will not be able to see the remaining content or any other info, including personal details. Three prerequisites are mandatory in order to be able to set up an FTP connection – a hostname, which is normally an IP or a domain name, a user name and a password.

FTP Accounts in Shared Hosting

You will be able to set up as many FTP accounts as you wish with each of the Linux shared services that we offer, as we’ve chosen not to limit this functionality. In this way, you can maintain multiple sites simultaneously or give other people access to different folders. As soon as a given job has been completed and you wouldn’t like that individual to be able to access your web files any longer, you can change the password associated with the given FTP account or you can simply remove that account with a couple of clicks of the mouse and quit worrying about anybody using it once more. The Hepsia Control Panel, which is offered with all shared hosting plans, will allow you to check the complete list of the existing FTP accounts displayed in alphabetical order. It takes only a click to manage various options for any of them – to change the access path or the password, to download an auto-config file, etc.

FTP Accounts in Semi-dedicated Hosting

Our Linux semi-dedicated hosting are quite powerful, which makes them excellent for hosting multiple sites. Speaking of which, we’ve decided not to put a restriction on the number of FTP accounts that you can create, so you can have a separate FTP account for each Internet site that you host on our semi-dedicated servers. All FTP accounts will be listed alphabetically in the respective section of the Hepsia Control Panel, which comes with each semi-dedicated server account. For each of them, you will be able to check the access path and to update it, if needed. Also, you can set up an account in an FTP client of your choice by downloading an auto-config file and running it on your personal computer, which will save you time. If you’ve never opened a web hosting account previously, you can check out our exhaustive video tutorials, which are available in the very same section of the Control Panel.

FTP Accounts in VPS Hosting

The virtual private server packages that we offer will enable you to create an unlimited number of FTP accounts to administer the content of your websites. This is valid irrespective of which VPS plan you order and which Control Panel you select during the registration process – cPanel, DirectAdmin or Hepsia. In all cases, you’ll be given FTP access to the VPS server without installing any kind of software, since an FTP server is part of the basic software suite which is included in the VPS plans by default. You can create one FTP account for every domain or subdomain that you have or even multiple accounts for a single directory – if you want different users to be able to connect to the content inside it with their own set of sign-in credentials. With any of the offered Control Panels, creating, deleting or editing an FTP account takes no more than a few clicks of the mouse via a simple-to-use interface.
